First Day Funnies

I was in a total fog all day due to lack of a regular sleep schedule. Lucky thing for me, the kids were also in a fog and didn’t seem to notice how disorganized I was. Despite the haze, a few amusing tidbits have stuck to my brain.

1) I just got a shipment of new stuff for the library, so I figured today was a great day to put them out and let the kids ooohh and aaahhhh over fresh new books. This worked well, and one girl chose one that was called something like The Earth, My Butt, and Other Large Round Objects. Don’t ask, my literacy coach ordered it. In any case, somewhere in the first few pages there is a reference to ‘second base’…not the baseball kind of second base… Yeah, try fielding that question at 8:45 am before your first cup of coffee.

2) Quote of the day: “Miss! My New Year’s revolution (yes, really) is to not ask to go to the bathroom so many times…but can I go now? Real quick?”

  1. 17 (really 15) more years

I thought I was the only one who heard a lot of “revolutions”.

    Happy New Year!
